NX Atomics Establishes Headquarters in Indiana

INDIANA — February 15, 2026 — NX Atomics, an advanced nuclear company developing small modular reactors (SMRs) for clean baseload power, today announced that it has established its headquarters in Indiana. The company selected the state for its nation-leading regulatory framework for advanced nuclear and the broad public and bipartisan enthusiasm for bringing SMR development and manufacturing to the Hoosier State.

Indiana has moved quickly to position itself as a home for the SMR industry. Senate Enrolled Act 423 created a pilot program allowing utilities and eligible partners to develop small modular reactors in the state, while Senate Enrolled Act 424 authorized the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to permit recovery of reasonable SMR project development costs. Proposed legislation would add a 20 percent tax credit for qualifying SMR development costs, and Executive Order 25-48 established the Nuclear Indiana Coalition to advance nuclear energy and attract supply-chain partners to the state.

"We looked closely at where America's next generation of nuclear could actually get built, and Indiana stood out," said John Warden, Chief Executive Officer of NX Atomics. "The state has done the hard work of building a regulatory environment that welcomes small modular reactors instead of standing in their way, and it has the manufacturing base and the political will to match. We are proud to call Indiana home."

State leaders have championed that approach. Senator Eric Koch, a leading proponent of the SMR legislation, has said he does not believe there is a state better positioned to develop small modular reactors. NX Atomics's headquarters adds a homegrown reactor developer to a growing Indiana nuclear ecosystem and reinforces the state's ambition to lead on reliable, affordable, next-generation energy.

Locating in Indiana also places NX Atomics within the Midwest manufacturing corridor, close to the partners and skilled workforce central to its plan to drive down the cost of small modular reactors.
